Tax and Accounting Manager:
i-wireless, LLC, a mobile virtual network operator providing wireless telecommunications services throughout the United States (“the Company”), is recruiting for a newly created position:
Position: Tax and Accounting Manager
The Tax and Accounting Manager will support and report directly to the Company’s Director of Asset Management. The Director of Asset Management is a newly created position that will play a key role with regard to two of the Company’s most important initiatives: (1) ensuring compliance with the various tax and regulatory filing obligations that allow the Company to continue operations in more than 2,200 retail stores nationwide and (2) maintaining and accounting for the Company’s various inventories, as well as facilitating the flow of inventory between warehouses and store shelves.
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
Tax Compliance:
- Ensuring the Company’s compliance with various regulatory, federal, state and local tax filings (including necessary communications with regulatory authorities and the Company’s outsourced tax vendors)
- Prepare tax-related journal entries as necessary and maintain appropriate balance sheet reconciliations as part of monthly close activities
- Gather and compile supplemental data needed by outsourced tax vendors to prepare the Company’s federal and state income tax provisions.
- Assist in the preparation of state income tax returns and personal property tax returns.
- Enter tax bills into the Company’s Great Plains accounting system and coordinate the distribution of payments to taxing authorities as required.
Inventory Management:
Work with the Company’s Director of Asset Management to:
- Monitor and adjust warehouse and store inventory levels in order to ensure flow of product and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Monitor suspended orders and take corrective actions as necessary to facilitate the completion of the orders
- Maintain purchase orders, verify receipt of purchased product and its related entry into the Company’s inventory records
- Monitor returns activity and coordinate the transfer of these items to repair vendors, warehouses, store shelves or salvage vendors
- Maintain and monitor perpetual inventory records for accuracy and reasonableness and take corrective action as necessary
Requirements:
- Progress towards, or completion of, a four-year accounting or similar business-oriented degree from an accredited university
- 1 to 2 years of accounting or similar experience
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective and proactive communication skills
Compensation:
- Contingent upon experience
